Mattaponi settle lawsuit with Newport News

In kind of a surprising move, the Mattaponi tribe settled its lawsuit with Newport News over the King William County Reservoir. Trial was upcoming, and as the City pointed out, defending the case would be expensive. However, based upon earlier reports, it seemed as though the tribe would keep pushing. Maybe the settlement has something to do with the tribe's ongoing battle for federal recogntion.
