York County defendant found not guilty by reason of insanity

It doesn't happen too often, but a former firefighter was found not guilty by reason of insanity in York County Circuit Court. He faced two counts each of robbery and use of a firearm (which, it turns out he didn't have). The defense expert and the Commonwealth's expert agreed that the defendant was "insane at the time the offenses were committed." Even more surprising is that the defendant is reportedly doing well on his new medications and his status "will be reviewed by the court Sept. 18 to see if he is well enough to be released from state custody."
